Domestic violence occurs when there is aggressive behavior, such a physical harm or a threat of physical harm among other factors, toward another individual in a household. An injunction or “restraining order” can be requested when a person seek to be protected from domestic violence. The alleged attacker is entitled to an evidentiary hearing to dispute the domestic violence allegations before the final injunction is entered.
